Jessica wins Youth Cup
Worthy runners up
What an incredible weekend of bowls – full of great competition, sportsmanship, and community spirit. Finals Day truly showed what makes our club so special, with every rink buzzing with excitement and support.
A huge congratulations to all of our winners and a very well-done to the runners-up. Each match was played with passion, skill, and respect, making it a brilliant showcase for our club.
Special mention to our Youth Academy final, which was the very first for the club and the Academy – history in the making! How inspiring it was to see our juniors competing alongside senior members, proving that bowls really is a sport for all ages.
It was a close fought final between our three junior finalists, after only 7 weeks of coaching they demonstrated a great level of skill and understanding of the game. We are very proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout the game, a big Well Done to each of them.
Thank you to everyone who played, supported, and cheered – you made the day unforgettable! Here’s to many more Finals Days like this one.
After just seven weeks, we’re thrilled to announce the very first Ampthill Bowls Youth Academy Finalists!
What makes this achievement even more impressive is that none of these young players had any previous experience of bowls. In such a short time, they’ve grown in skill and confidence, proving that they can hold their own and play a fantastic game.
It’s been an absolute joy to welcome the Juniors into the club. They’ve shown us all that age is no barrier when it comes to bowls, and we couldn’t be prouder of their progress and dedication.
A fantastic start for the Ampthill Bowls Youth Academy in its first season.
Over the past 7 weeks, 13 juniors have come through our doors – a brilliant response for our very first season, especially as it started at the beginning of the summer holidays. We’re especially proud that three of those youngsters will be competing against each other on Finals Day for the inaugural Youth Academy Trophy.
Looking ahead, we’re delighted to be taking 7 enthusiastic juniors forward into the winter season, where they’ll continue their development with us at Kempston Indoor Centre.
A huge thank you goes to our dedicated members, Martyn, Dawn, Jackie, John M, Louis, Alastair and Gary B for your energy, support and dedication. Without the commitment of members like you, this exciting new initiative simply wouldn’t have got off the ground. Thanks also to the Committee for backing the Academy and agreeing to us taking this initiative forward.
